The sisters by Jamce joyce
Rating- 7/10
This
story is talking about a priest’s die through the boy’s perspective who was close
to priest. James joyce used a lot of metaphor and hidden message. In fact, the priest
had an undesirable sexual inclination. And this terrible inclination is caused by
the high-pressure sexual culture in priest society. The story’s view, a small boy,
made the writing more special, dreamy and mysteriously. The boy didn’t face the
priest’s die directly. He experienced dead mediately. He heard the old priest’s
last through the priest’s acquaintances. Additionally, Paralysis is one of the important
keywords. The boy imagined ‘the paralysis’ to see the priest’s dead. It means the
paralysis of the Ireland society. I think James joyce want to represent the love
and attention about Ireland and its Irish.
